DAWSON HOUSE

1,100 SF Urban Remodel  •  2014

"The renovated home demonstrates how, with thoughtful and meticulous detail, a small and forgotten structure can be transformed into a lasting structure"
-Angela Rabke, Home Design & Decor

The Dawson Home consists of a small Craftsman-style bungalow built in 1912 that's been brought back to life with resourcefulness and care. The simple form of the original structure lends itself to passive ventilation and daylighting. The original longleaf pine is carefully harvested, re-finished and re-repurposed as furniture, countertops, flooring and siding throughout the home. Newly vaulted ceilings and interior openings create balanced daylight, strong connections outdoors, and a sense of spaciousness despite the home's small footprint.
