CASH MOUNTAIN

1,700 SF Rural Residence  •  Helotes TX  •  In Progress

The Cash Mountain home perches on a steep limestone hillside. As the client's "forever" home, eliminating stairs in the primary living spaces was essential. This is achieved by raising the home to be level with the parking area. The home is accessed via a footbridge that spans over the dense vegetation of Sotol, Mountain Laurel and Live Oaks.

Light foundations and cantilevered porches take advantage of the hard limestone soils and minimize impact to the natural site. A small recessed area below the home houses its utilities and rainwater collection system. A long, shaded deck facing southeast takes in views of the valley and summer breezes. Slat wood barn doors and sheer curtains provide an additional layer of lighting and privacy control.
